Perth sewing classes and sewing workshop for beginners

My 12 y.o son came to one of Olga’s workshops earlier last year – just to try something new – and got surprisingly and absolutely hooked! Since then, he has been on several workshops and also attended “Olga’s holiday sewing club”.. The results of those visits are few amazing pieces of clothing and some other things, some of them are now on their way to Germany to make presents for proud grandparents. He is definitely in for some more!!

Being a beginner and never using a sewing machine, I felt really nervous coming to the class. Olga makes the lessons super easy to follow and I had confidence from my first lesson. I look forward to my sewing classes each week. Olga is kind and caring and encourages us at every step, I learn so much from her. All you need for your creations is provided in the first class.
I have learned to make cushion covers, aprons, skirts, tops, dresses, trousers and am now making classic Peter Alexander style pj’s complete with piping!
These classes have given me confidence to make my own clothes from patterns at home and skills I have learnt have allowed me to fit my own clothes to myself better. I also have confidence using a sewing machine and overlocker.

Loved, loved my experience at Studio Thimbles, Beginners Sewing Course Level one. Being very much a novice, Olga gave me the confidence to use a sewing machine without “kangarooing” too much!! And Olga’s practical advice with buying a sewing machine gave me the confidence to buy my own which in itself can be very overwhelming. Olga’s hacks and tips just made learning to sew simple and easy and being in a small group gave Olga more time to help with the frequent questions!

It’s great! Highly recommended for anyone interested in sewing. Olga and Daniela are patient and knowledgeable sewing teachers to help first time sewers to gain confidence with a sewing machine. The classes are well planned and offered in small group sizes allowing one on one instruction and guidance. I learned so much from the beginner class, now I have 4 projects in fun fabric as well the basics to continue sewing.
