These workshops are designed for confident beginners — those who already know the basics of a sewing machine and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Whether you’ve completed a beginner course or have been sewing for a while and want to try something new, each workshop (2,5 to 4 hours) offers a relaxed, inspiring space to learn, create, and connect. Join us, enjoy the company of like-minded people, and embrace the joy of bringing your own sewing projects to life!

My 2 daughters had a school holiday session with Olga. She was amazing- they have come home with a beautiful skirt, scrunchies, and a ton more confidence about making something. The studio has so many machines, and they loved the day. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The classes conducted were well organized. I attended the beginners course (with no sewing knowledge and experience)and my teacher was Daniela. She is approachable and willing to share her knowledge. Studio Thimbles is a great place to take the first step towards sewing, a life skill that is also very rewarding. ☺️

The classes are really well structured, so you’re not only learning new things, but also reinforcing your existing knowledge, and you end up with your own awesome creations at the end of it. Olga and Daniela are patient and knowledgeable sewing teachers to help first time sewers to gain confidence with a sewing machine. The classes are well planned and offered in small group sizes allowing one on one instruction and guidance. I learned so much from the beginner class, now I have 4 projects in fun fabric as well the basics to continue sewing.

I am a Russian girl with an Aussie heart. I am so grateful to live in the most beautiful country in the world and have an opportunity to follow my sewing passion!
From a young age I was mesmerised by the ability to turn fabrics into unique garments, which often drew comment from admirers for their beauty and character. Below are some hard to find pictures of me in my “me made” garments when I was still studying at school.
You might find it hard to believe that I am a Process Engineer by my degree, but I am a seamstress in my heart! Sewing been my passion through all my life. I was dreaming about becoming a fashion designer.
