Term-Based Sewing Classes for Teens

Welcome to our Teens weekly sewing classes

Our Teens Sewing Classes are designed for young creatives aged 13+ who are eager to learn garment-making skills. In this term-based program, all students work on the same carefully selected beginner-friendly garment. We have curated the project in advance to ensure every teen learns the essential foundations of sewing: reading a pattern, understanding construction steps, cutting fabric accurately, and assembling a garment with confidence. Teens will receive guidance to prepare a shopping list of fabrics and notions (purchased separately), and will complete one garment by the end of each term.

Requirements:

These classes are designed specifically for teens aged 13 and above. For younger students, we recommend exploring our Kids Term-Based Sewing Classes instead.
No prior garment-making experience is needed—that’s what we’ll teach!
Basic sewing machine skills are required. For those completely new to sewing, we recommend starting with one of our Kids Sewing Classes, School Holiday Camps, or contact us for a private lesson before joining this term-based program

I booked my 2 children in to Olga’s Sewing course over the previous school holidays. We chose the aprons to make. The children 11 and 13 had a wonderful experience. My youngest hadn’t sewn before, but with Olga’s supervision he did an amazing job. Even got a photo of him using the steam iron! I booked my niece into the tote bag class for her birthday present. She has never sewed before but Olga was the perfect patient encouraging teacher and my niece had the best time and absolutely loved the bag. When we were leaving my niece asked when can we go again! I must add that even though my niece was the only one booked at that time (we saw the students in the earlier class as they were leaving) Olga did not cancel the class and my niece was so lucky to get a one on one private lesson! Hi, I’m Olga!

I am a Russian girl with an Aussie heart. I am so grateful to live in the most beautiful country in the world and have an opportunity to follow my sewing passion! From a young age I was mesmerised by the ability to turn fabrics into unique garments, which often drew comment from admirers for their beauty and character. Below are some hard to find pictures of me in my “me made” garments when I was still studying at school. You might find it hard to believe that I am a Process Engineer by my degree, but I am a seamstress in my heart! Sewing been my passion through all my life. I was dreaming about becoming a fashion designer.
