Fabric Basket – Sewing Workshop for Beginners

I did the T-Shirt Baby Workshop with absolutely zero sewing experience and came out of it with a cute T-shirt for my little baby, but most importantly, I now have the confidence to use a sewing machine (I have never used one before!). Olga was such a pleasant, patient and enthusiastic teacher and provided absolutely everything you needed. Location was easy to find and we were able to finish the workshop on time (2.5 hours) without feeling rushed. I was able to take a copy of the pattern away with me and I went and bought some more fabric straight after to continue making more!

I booked my niece into the tote bag class for her birthday present. She has never sewed before but Olga was the perfect patient encouraging teacher and my niece had the best time and absolutely loved the bag. When we were leaving my niece asked when can we go again! I must add that even though my niece was the only one booked at that time (we saw the students in the earlier class as they were leaving) Olga did not cancel the class and my niece was so lucky to get a one on one private lesson! We did not expect this and it really was going above and beyond. I can’t recommend Olga’s class highly enough. We will be back!

I couldn’t make the 5 week course so I booked a private lesson with Olga. She helped me conquer my fear of starting anything on my sewing machine. I learnt how to load the bobbin, thread my machine, and cut and sew a tote bag in a couple of hours. The lesson flew by, and Olga made it fun and easy. I’m really excited to see what I can make now!

LETS GO!

I did the STL2 course with Olga and had a great time! I learned a lot of techniques that I struggled to teach myself at home, and also really enjoyed the social aspect of the class. Olga provides a warm and inviting environment to learn in, and her knowledge is exceptional! The classes are also offered at times that are outside of the normal scope which is great for people who can only learn outside of normal business hours! Highly recommend!

I’m grateful for the fantastic mum and daughter experience we had at Studio Thimbles. We truly enjoyed Olga taking us through the experiential learning of making our very own headband and scrunchie which we now love wearing. Highly recommend for mums and daughters (or sons) to learn sewing together in a warm and cosy studio – perfect way to spend our morning bonding together.
